The Most Apt to Perish

(Darwinism—Poem III of IV)

Will the future giraffe gain a longer neck if need be— if indeed
       the trees grow taller?
Will the horse gain a longer neck if his master trims the trees?
In other words, has anybody witnessed an elongated neck
in any animal for survival purposes—scientifically?
Can an ape drive a car, on the highway? (yet to be seen I think).
I know caterpillars can look like twigs, motionless and dead…
But my best guess would be, insects drift towards what feels
safe for them, as in all creation: which in essence is called:
A God given gift, —instinct…!
