When the waters shall begin to rise in spring
In
the South China Sea
With
Islands unforeseen, it is not a dream!
Much
woe to America, Vietnam and the Philippines—
Then
shall America’s allies cry well-away,
“That
ever they liv’d to see this day!”
Though
empires wax and wane,
Throughout
these waters, chaos comes again!
Good
Mother America still will live
But
in Dear Old Limbo, for a generation:
Then
Mother Goose be no more seen!
But
a wax figure—in a hip exhibition—in Beijing…
